In mid-January, the United States—through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) —awarded an additional $3 million in urgent COVID-19 assistance for Kosovo. This assistance will help strengthen the protection of vulnerable children who have been hit by the pandemic and ensure continuity in the provision of core social services. The assistance will also improve outreach services within the primary health care system to promote vaccination and digitalize the COVID-19 case-management database to facilitate rapid information sharing among health institutions.
Pristina, November 10, 2021 -- Today, the United States—through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) —announced $2.5 million in urgent COVID-19 assistance for Kosovo. This assistance will provide comprehensive support to the administration of COVID-19 vaccines, help promote uptake and access to safe COVID-19 vaccines among all eligible populations and strengthen the overall health system including the replacement of the cold chain system.
Pristina, October 21st, 2021 – On September 27, 2021, USAID’s Energy Sustainability Activity and Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure (MESPI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the development of Kosovo’s renewable energy sector.
Pristina, July 27, 2021 – Today, Ms. Zeinah Salahi was sworn in as USAID Kosovo Mission Director at a ceremony officiated by USAID Administrator Samanta Power. The U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo Phillip S. Kosnett, USAID acting Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Margot Ellis, USAID staff, and friends and family participated in the online ceremony.
Pristina, July 19, 2021 – Today, the UNICEF Office in Kosovo and USAID announced a $1 million partnership in support of communication and outreach efforts in Kosovo for COVID-19 prevention and vaccination.
