Administrator Samantha Power’s Call with UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy

Today, Administrator Samantha Power spoke with United Arab Emirates Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy ahead of the United Nations General Assembly vote to condemn Russia for the violence in Ukraine and demand an immediate withdrawal. They spoke about efforts to respond to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the emergency needs of the people of Ukraine. Administrator Power thanked the UAE for its growing humanitarian and development assistance contributions globally. The two emphasized the importance of the United States-UAE relationship and the Administrator reiterated her condemnation of recent Houthi attacks on the UAE.
