Jeffery (Jeff) Cohen is a Senior Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). In June 2021, Jeff completed a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy at the National War College within the National Defense University. He went on to study Indonesian and is now the USAID Indonesia Mission Director in Jakarta.
Prior to studying at the National War College, Jeff served as Deputy Mission Director for USAID in Kabul, Afghanistan from October 2017 - March 2020. He previously served as a USAID Program Officer in the Asia Bureau in Washington and in USAID Missions in Afghanistan, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.
Before joining the USAID Foreign Service, Jeff served in the U.S. Peace Corps, first as a Municipal Development Volunteer in Bolivia (97'-99') and then as Deputy Peace Corps Director in Honduras (00'-05').
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Jeff also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in Political Economy and a Master of Arts degree from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in International Policy Studies.
