Mission Director

Kathryn Davis Stevens is the Mission Director in Bangladesh, where she oversees the largest USAID program in Asia with an average annual budget of over $200 million. USAID partners with the government and people of Bangladesh to improve health and education, accelerate economic opportunities, enhance food security, address climate change, strengthen resilience to disasters, and promote democracy and good governance.

Prior to joining the USAID mission in Bangladesh, she served as Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator (A/DAA) in USAID’s Bureau for Policy, Planning and Learning, overseeing Strategic and Program Planning (SPP). Kathryn previously served as the Director of PPL/SPP, and as DAA for Agency Internal Communications in the Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs.

She is a Senior Foreign Service Officer with nearly 25 years of experience with USAID as a Democracy Officer, Program Officer, and Deputy Mission Director in Russia, India, and Afghanistan. Kathryn holds an M.A. in Russian Studies from Georgetown University and an A.B. in History from Duke University. She is from Fort Worth, Texas.
