Private Sector Engagement Opportunities in the COVID-19 Response: Mexico

How can your company help fight COVID-19 in Mexico?

Depending on the specific intervention, private sector assistance could take the form of: 

• Expertise and skill sets (e.g., supply chain, data analytics, marketing/communications, technology and innovation) 
• Use of company assets (e.g., locations for vaccinations, equipment)  
• Collaboration with and/or funding of local or international organizations undertaking COVID response programs 
• Provision of funding or donated items to government entities 

Country-Specific Needs

Increasing Vaccine Access & Delivery

Logistics, Warehousing, and Infrastructure 

• Support outsourcing of, or provide donations for, cold-chain maintenance supplies and equipment
• Provide expertise on gaps, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen the country’s vaccine storage and handling process

Vaccine Distribution, Planning, and Sites of Delivery 

• Support outsourcing of, or provide donations for, 3.5-ton vehicles with refrigeration systems (in-country) to enable last-mile deliveries of vaccines

Data and Monitoring

• Provide IT infrastructure (hardware and software), platforms, and/or resources to support the Epidemiological and Health Intelligence Unit on epidemiological surveillance and field operations at the federal, state, and local level

Expanding Availability of Tests, Therapeutics, and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Supply Availability and Logistics

• Provide supplies and equipment to strengthen the infrastructure and operations of the National Institute of Diagnostics and  Epidemiological Reference (INDRE), particularly to enhance its Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory 
• Support outsourcing of, or provide donation for, mobile laboratories with Level 2 capacity to expand testing capacity across the country, particularly in remote locations and disaster areas
• Provide donation of disposable/reusable personal protective equipment for medical personnel (e.g., mask respirators, gowns)

Staffing, Training, and Administration

• Offer training opportunities in the areas of preparedness and response, warehouse logistics and planning, strategy, data analytics, and medical waste disposal
